A simple, fast website for Mežavīrs

SIA "Mežavīrs" wanted a simple, minimalistic informational website and not much more than that. If anything it came out more pared back than I would have gone on my own, but a clean, minimal site was the client's main goal, so that is what I built.

The point was to give the company a clear, credible presence online. Nothing fancy, just the basics laid out well and a page that loads fast for anyone who lands on it.

I built the site and tuned every part of it for speed. The images and assets were optimised so the page scores well in PageSpeed Insights, and the SEO groundwork was done to a solid standard, so the site is set up to be found for what it is.

On top of the site I connected Google Analytics, so the client can see their visitor numbers without anything complicated, and I set up the company email addresses on their own domain, so their mail matches the site instead of running through a generic free account.

This was built as plain HTML and JavaScript, with no backend. A site like this does not need one, and reaching for a framework here would have added weight and upkeep for no real gain.

That is a deliberate call, not a shortcut. Matching the tools to the actual job is part of the work, and keeping this one lean is exactly why it loads as fast as it does.

The site is live and picking up steady organic traffic, in line with what you would expect from a new informational site of this size. It went up only recently, so the numbers are early and building the way they should.

Mežavīrs is not a big name, and this site was never meant to chase big traffic. What it needs to do is load fast and be easy to find for the people who look the company up, and that part is working.
