A custom website and admin panel for Māja Tev

When Māja Tev came to me they had an old WordPress site that was outdated and kept failing, and they could not really change anything on it themselves. I offered to rework the whole thing, and more, as a fully custom build rather than patching what was already there.

The main thing they wanted back was control. Now they manage most of the content through their own admin panel, one built around exactly what they use and nothing else, so there are none of the spare sections and settings you get with WordPress or an off-the-shelf do-it-all system.

I built the company a custom online store for their modular home projects. Each project has all of its trim variants laid out with their prices, and an interactive 3D viewer that lets a visitor look around inside the house, so people can get a real feel for what they are buying without having to ask first.

It connects to e-leasing so buyers can look into financing, and to Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager for a deeper read on how people use the site. I also ran a full SEO migration, mapping every old URL across to its new page so the switch cost them as little ranking as possible.

The site runs on a React front end styled with Tailwind, with a Laravel back end serving the data through an API, and the admin panel is built in React too. Splitting it this way keeps the public site and the tools they edit with cleanly separated, both talking to the same Laravel core.

Going fully custom instead of another WordPress theme is what makes the admin panel actually work for them. It carries only what they manage, so there is nothing extra to wade through and nothing spare to break or need updating.

The site ranks well organically and brings in a steady flow of new enquiries. Every week it generates calls from people interested in the projects, which is exactly the kind of lead the business runs on.

Just as important, they are no longer stuck waiting on me. They update their projects whenever they want, on their own, without needing to come back to change a price or add a model.
